Using a vast majority, 95 %, of its customers using the service for trips lasting less than 4 hours and not over twenty five miles, electric cars are ideally suited for the Zipcar sharing platform. The world’s largest car sharing service released another innovative project earlier this spring called FastFleet in Washington D.C. The government run fleet will within the next three years be reduced by 365 vehicles and increase the use of its current fleet consisting of 97 percent alternative fuels, including hybrid electric. We have also written about their unorthodox marketing campaigns, but especially like the fact that they are saving the government money and reducing carbon emissions.
