The Secret of Lamborghini Cabrera
The replacement of Lamborghini Gallardo is tentatively called Lamborghini Cabrera and now, many hoping that Cabrera (or whatever it eventually became the name) will be supported by a revamped version of the V10 engine found in the Gallardo. This same rumor indicates that Cabrera will start with 600 horsepower, so when combined with a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, the new Lamborghini wants to take naming “LP600-4″ extra.
Although there is a solid company information to support the rumors, 600 horsepower will leave plenty of room for pricier Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador and re-working of the Gallardo V10 is easy to step into the 600 ponies.
An interesting rumor about the upcoming Lamborghini Cabrera LP600-4 is that it could make this power with the help of a supercharger. The standard Gallardo V10 churns out 570 horsepower so forced induction would very easily help the Cabrera jump up to 600 horsepower and with a little more work, this same blown engine could be tweaked to add slightly higher performance variants as time goes on. Lamborghini loves adding slight amounts of power for special edition trimlines so perhaps this supercharged V10 could give way to items like the Cabrera LP620-4 or LP640-4 as the Aventador travels above the 700 mark.
If the replacement for the Lamborghini Gallardo indeed receives 600 horsepower, it will not be a huge improvement over the current Gallardo but should the company employee the carbon fiber monocoque construction found on the Aventador and Sesto Elemento, the Cabrera could be substantially lighter than the Gallardo, making better use of the power than the outgoing Lambo.
